A Close Call

I seem to run into these a lot.

I was about to post a comment on facebook making fun of someone I have never met and using a word that had just popped into my mind--while not really knowing what it ment. I was going to use the word in referencing a person who I think is dimwitted and somewhat predictable (my generalization about the unnamed person.)
Well my overwhelmingly small better judgment kicked in and I looked up the word. More because I was interested in its actually meaning then because I was concerned about using it. Well, I'm glad I looked. Nothing like a racial slur to piss a few hundred friends off.
